Blossoming winelands – it’s spring!

When will the market open?

It’s been nearly 4 months since our last market under the oak trees. And since then, we’ve been overwhelmed by your concern, enthusiasm and patience on when the market will open again.

In light of the ever-changing regulations regarding business under lockdown, we have started the process of getting protocols in place to re-open the Franschhoek Village Market. We’re working closely with law enforcement and our local municipality to ensure a safe environment once the market opens again.

So watch this space. We’re hopeful that we’ll open again SOON, once all new rules and regulations are in place.

Through the lens: Winter in Franschhoek

There is something truly magical about the way Franschhoek transforms in the winter. So to appreciate our beautiful town and area, take a look at this gorgeous display of winter in Franschhoek, photographed by locals and visitors.

How our market can make a real difference

You might have seen our trader, Maxwell’s beautiful Coronavirus masks (we’ve shared pictures of them on our social media). But there’s even more to Maxwell Ngongang than making masks. A very big and beautiful congratulations to Maxwell for recently obtaining his Doctorate in Engineering: Chemical Engineering.

And there’s a big thank you to YOU too. In his own words: “The market has played an incredible role financially. A huge chunk of the financial support (to complete my studies) came from the market.”

Well done, Maxwell, on this fantastic achievement. And thank you to everyone who has supported his stall over the years.

We continue to remain positive and dream of market-days spent together. Warm regards,

The Franschhoek Village Market team
