FAQ

When are you open?

Every Saturday from 9am to 3pm in the summer and 10am to 3pm in the winter. On rainy days we are closed, so be sure to follow us on Facebook for regular updates.

Is the market child-friendly?

There is a dedicated play area for children including a jungle gym, swings, a large lawn, and more. Although there is a supervisor, the Franschhoek Village Market is indemnified against any accidents occurring, and parents are advised to keep a close eye on the young ones.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, you are welcome to bring along your furry friends, provided they are always on a leash. Please clean after your dog.

Is there an entry fee?

No, access to the market is free of charge (except during Bastille Festival weekend, when a small charge is included).

And parking?

Parking is free on street and at the back of the market near the Dutch Reformed Church.

Is seating provided?

Sure thing! But come early and grab the best table. You are not able to reserve tables in advance.

I am a prospective trader. How do I secure a stand?

Please visit our Apply page for more details. Stall prices depend on the size and location of available stands.

I am a soulful musician. Can I play at the Village Market?

Our musicians play a big part in setting the mood we all love at Franschhoek Village Market. We carefully select the right musician for the right occasion. Please get in touch with us to set up a meeting and send us a few demos of your tunes (e.g. Soundcloud link, CDs, etc.).
