Where locals meet...

Our market, where locals meet...

This has been our slogan since we started the Franschhoek Village Market in 2016.

We’re an authentic, affordable and friendly market, created around our LOCAL friends, family and community (who in turn show our international visitors why this village market is so special).

Like Jean and Keith Steele, who join us every Saturday to enjoy the atmosphere and friendly vibes. Or AnneMarie Eksteen, who comes because it’s the best music AND the best people. Or Marie Steyn, who says visiting the market is always a good experience.

For these locals and other visitors, it’s about the warm smiles and a feeling of being “home”, spending time with our usual, long-standing traders such as Theresa Adonis with her famous samoosas, watching the Boulles court come alive, and keeping the Franschhoek legacy alive.

In their own words…

What's new at the market?

  • If you missed our update on social media, we’ve made the switch to our summer trading times (9am – 3pm).

  • Our lucky visitors draw for the summer season will kick-off next weekend, 14 November. So be sure to be at the market every weekend, you might walk away with an amazing prize.

  • Mouth-watering T-Bones, delicious kebabs and more are available at the market, thanks to the amazing and professional new butchery in town, Cracker Jack!

  • Remember to keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages for our Sunday pop-up markets.

  • Unfortunately due to rain, the market will be cancelled today (7 Nov), but we look forward to seeing you next weekend.
