Happy New Year to our market family!

We're ready for 2021!

It’s safe to say 2020 was not an easy year for most people across the world. But we’ve made it through, and are staying positive to see what 2021 could hold in store for us. We hope that together we can make 2021 a GREAT year.

So we’ve decided on a motto to start the new year:

  • Support local
  • Support handmade, authentic
  • Support the talented, self-made chefs
  • Support those shaping their own future through sheer hard work.

Here at the Franschhoek Village Market, we create a space under the oak trees for our local artists, chefs and artisans, giving them the chance to grow their business. And giving you the chance to buy and try wonderful, authentic goods you won’t easily find elsewhere, and build relationships with our traders.

How are you looking forward to 2021? How about celebrating the new year safely with those closest to you!

Market CLOSED until further notice

It's with a heavy heart that we've decided to close the market for the next 2 weeks, due to the implementation of #LockdownLevel3.

We're working closely with Franschhoek Police Services and Disaster Management, and are following their guidelines closely. This means that we'll be closed Saturday 2 January & 9 January. We'll reassess the situation on 15 January to let you know as soon as we can open again.

For the Franschhoek Village Market team, we believe in supporting small businesses. But looking after the health of our market family - including YOU - is our top priority.

Thank you for your support, and we're excited to see you as soon as safe celebrations are once again allowed under the oak trees. In the meantime, please take care and know that we're thinking of you: Our visitors, locals, tourists, traders and community.

A big thank you to our visitors and traders for making the market so special. We're grateful to every trader for their high spirits, and every visitor who enjoyed the market with us during the festive season.

Cheers to 2021 and to spending time together at the market (hopefully very soon), in a safe environment of course.

Warm regards,

The Franschhoek Village Market team
